I lived across the road fr...What a moving article. I lived across the road from Madaket Millie in the winter of 1974, I believe. She eventually got so she would at least acknowledge my presence as I took a daily walk. Then she started speaking to me, as I had a red-boned coon hound so we had something in common. Over time she came to trust me and eventually asked me into her scallop shack so she could teach me to open scallops. I could open two to her eight or ten!
